30 GAMES - A KNUCKLING WE GO
SEATTLE KNUCKLERS - 32GP 11W 16L 5T 27PTS / 5th BELFOUR / 9th MORIN / 16th OVERALL

The numbers show it all, as the Knucklers continue with sub par play. The loss of centerman Peter Brady has made a big impact, but when PP specialist Travis Richard went down, this club has had a tough time finding the back of the net.

RW Bill Maguire still leads the club in scoring, but lately, he's been off the score sheet more times then not. Penalties have been plentiful though... while the coach stresses to the players to ease up, the guys can't seem to stay out of the box. Captain David Bernier has accumulated 83 minutes in penalties. Despite being #2 in points on the club, his presence is better felt on the ice.

The club has tossed out a few trade offers, being shunned in most and pawned into unhealthy counter offers, nothing has progressed as of yet, but as GM Lada stated to us, " The doors always open for offers ".

The club gets a couple days off before facing Vermont for 3 games. Hopefully we can pull off a couple wins. With #1 spot in the Morin Conference only 11 points away, things can still change before mid season. We spoke to D Valfrid Lenngard, fresh from the farm to cover for the injured Travis Richard.

Valfrid, " It's nice to get up here and get some Pro ice time. I'm hoping I can help. This club is not out of the playoff hunt yet, we got a couple key injuries, and if we can keep up with the pack for when these guys return, I think the final regular season stretch will find teams shuffling each night ".

The injury bug hasn't just hit the Knucklers. Farm affiliate the Surrey Buzz have had a fair share of injuries to key players. Despite the loss of key players, the team seems to be finding other avenues to win games. Centerman Martin Belanger leads the team in points, and goaltender Scott Howes continues to impress with his 15W 7L 5T 2.95GAA.

Head coach Terry Murray spoke to us, and had these fine words to say.
Terry, " It is definitely not time to panic, but something has to happen. I had a talk with Bill ( Maguire ), and he knows he needs to step it up. You dont just make $10 million a season standing around waiting for the puck. He has to make every opportunity count. This club has what it takes...they just haven't found it yet".

So there you have it, a team in turmoil or a team waiting to pounce, I'm Walter Wall reporting...may your carpets be clean as much as your game play.
